TechIP - Technology Insertion Plan 2006-03-02 Data TechIP is designed to insert and manage emerging technologies. It is based on the DoD TRL (Technology Readiness Levels) specifications and the industry best practices. TechIP will manage emerging technology evaluation, maturation, and transition into systems. Sub-components: (1) tManager (Technology Manager) will guide the technologies as they move from one maturity level to another, (2) iManager (Insertion and Integration Manager) will define the technologies to be deployed, and (3) pManager (Profile and Project Manager) is a tool that will manage the technology insertion process. To comply with the E-Government Act of 2002 and to harness innovation, on an ongoing basis, Government CIO’s confront strategic technology acquisition, investment and R&D challenges….Will this technology work? What are other competitive and profitable technologies? Are the current technologies suitable for a given project and investment? Will the technologies being evaluated be obsolete in near or midterm future? What are the current stages (or maturity levels) for the technologies being evaluated? What are risk levels in adopting the technologies? TechIP will provide a solution, including a technology review architecture and common language, to insert and manage emerging technologies.
